We are currently recruiting for the following positions: Clinic Reception Services/Concierge Are you a customer service rock star? Do you have a knack for filing? Are gay men's health issues your bag? Then we've got a volunteer opportunity for you. Magnet is looking for clinic reception services volunteers Recently, we've doubled the number of available HIV testing appointments in a day. Magnet is getting busier each day. So that's why we're looking for customer service superstars to become clinic reception services volunteers. Here's some of the general functions of this role:
You must be able to commit to volunteering for a period of at least six months; also to volunteer at least twice a month. Volunteer shifts are about four hours long. Volunteers are most needed during Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings. Data Entry The data entry volunteer is responsible for accurately entering HIV testing data into an online database. This requires a strong attention to detail. Additionally, volunteers will be required to uphold all HIPAA and privacy standards as they will be reviewing confidential patient information. Volunteers may also be asked to file medical records should be able to commit to volunteering 4-6 hours/weekMagnet Events Volunteers Are you a party-planner extraordinaire? Each month Magnet hosts a variety of events including First Fridays Art Openings, book club, Smack Dab, and Queer Dancing. Magnet events volunteers - also known as Socialites - are an energetic group of individuals committed to Magnet's belief that measures of sexual health are as diverse as the customers we serve. Events volunteers will work with the Community Organizer to plan and execute ongoing and special events, maintain Magnet's presence in the community among other things. More information All Magnet volunteers must provide proof of a negative PPD (TB test) within the last year and hepatitis B immunity, either natural or acquired, before starting volunteer service. Don't worry, Magnet will help you with these items if need be. So, get to getting your application complete! Applications for these positions are reviewed weekly. Interviews are usually on Thursday afternoons. Recruitment is on-going. The next volunteer orientation will be in February, 2012. Magnet is currently not recruiting for HIV Test Counselors or RNs. Also, Magnet is unable to accommodate requests for internships or clinical rotations.
