OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY Celebration of life + memorial
5:30PM Sunday August 30th Civic Center/UN PLAZA
Please join us for the annual Overdose Awareness Day Memorial and Celebration of Life and Survival. This year the event is being held at Civic Center/UN Plaza in recognition of the recent outbreak of overdoses there, and the many lives that have been saved.
Let's celebrate survival and recognize the life saving work of people who use drugs, our friends and community, and create space for remembering our loved ones lost to overdose without stigma, judgment or shame.
There will be space to play music, read, speak about someone you've lost--this is a participatory event open to anyone, please bring a guitar, your voice, something to read if you feel so inclined. We will provide pizza, narcan trainings and syringe exchange and there will be an altar to contribute flowers, photos, or offerings to remember someone you've lost.
